Setting Up Session Keys
This is the most critical step in the setup process. To allow PolyOrbit to execute trades automatically on your behalf (for example, while you are sleeping), you must authorize a Session Key.
What are Session Keys?
A Session Key is a temporary, cryptographic permission slip. Unlike giving an app your private key (which is dangerous), a Session Key is scoped and non-custodial.
Scoped: The key is restricted to specific actions. It can only execute trades (buy/sell) and split orders. It cannot withdraw funds to an external wallet or change your security settings.
Non-Custodial: Your funds remain in your smart contract or wallet. PolyOrbit never takes custody of your assets.
How to Activate Session Keys
Access the Session Manager After connecting your wallet, navigate to the "Settings" tab or click the "Enable Automation" badge on the main dashboard.
Initialize Session Click the "Create Session Key" button. You will be prompted to define the duration of the session.
Recommended Duration: 7 Days or 30 Days (depending on how long your prediction markets run).
Sign the Authorization Your wallet will open with a transaction request or a typed data signature (EIP-712).
Read the Request: You will see that the permissions are strictly limited to the PolyOrbit Proxy Contract.
Sign: Confirm the transaction. This authorizes the PolyOrbit engine to sign specific trade instructions on your behalf for the duration selected.
Activation Confirmed Once the transaction is confirmed on the blockchain, your dashboard status will change to "Active: Automation Ready". You can now build Chains that run 24/7 without manual confirmation prompts.
Security Tip: You can revoke a Session Key at any time directly from the PolyOrbit dashboard or by revoking permissions in your wallet settings.
